Bavi History

Ba Vì (Three Peaks) is the district lying northwest of Hanoi, containing the majority of Ba Vì mountain range (nick name "Green Lung of Hanoi"). Only 1.5 hours away from the central of the city, it is known to be a popular weekend vacation due to its peaceful and agricultural nature.

While there are many peaks in this range, the most famous one is Tản Viên Peak at 1,281m high. In Vietnamese mythology, it is home to Tản Viên Sơn Thánh, the greatest mountain god of Vietnam. However, the highest mountain is actually Vua Hung Peak (or King Hung Peak) at 1296m. A shrine dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh is built on this summit as well. The last shorter third peak represent Ngoc Hoa princess, the daughter of Hung King, who married to Tản Viên.
