About Bavi Homestead

Founded by Dr. Oanh Kieu Ngo in 2008.

Traditional Values.

Since 1997, Dr. Oanh in one of her work trip to Hanoi nearby province Son Tay (the greater region of Bavi), found out that the Hoang Mai house and the old Stilt house at the dining area were to be destroyed for newer cement houses.

She simply decided to buy the land lot (was a lot cheaper during those days) along with the small bamboo forest next to these houses to preserve the traditional values of architecture and nature.

Community Spirit.

As Vietnam opened up to the world, it was clear that tourism will become a crucial aspect of the economy. Thus in 2008, Dr. Oanh further brought in 2 old houses (the Dao Stilt house from Bac Giang and the Vong Thi house from Hanoi).

Bavi Homestead was born as a result. Working as an advisor for the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture, she made Bavi Homestead mission to assist working farmers connect with guests around the globe.
