Ba Trai Tea Village

History

Ba Trai (3 farms) began humbly when three families from three ethnicities (Kinh, Muong, Dao) decided to settled here. The Commune has 7 ethnic groups, mainly Kinh and Muong, in which 30% are Muong. Has over 470 hectares of growing tea leaf, producing up to national standard and aiming for organic. In 1999, Ba Trai had 200 household, now they have more than 3700 with around 15000 people. Is the biggest traditional tea village of Hanoi capital, yielding 8 - 10 tons of fresh tea leaves (not dried one) per hectare.

Village Bio

Born in 1957 in Phuc Tho province, Mr. Hung moved to Ba Trai at a young age and started to work on his family tea farm. He settled down with Mrs. Trường and has 4 children (2 boys, 2 girls).

Working as a tea farmer for 60 years, currently Mr. Hung’s family own 1 hectare of tea field, yielding 80 - 100kg dry tea per month. Mr. Hung has received visitors from well over 50 countries and has been on television and news multiple times.
