Economic growth combined with the trend of improving the health and height of Vietnamese people has made the demand for dairy products increase exponentially. In 2010, on average, each Vietnamese consumed about 15 liters of milk/year. By 2020, this number nearly doubled, up to 28 liters of milk/year. However, the average milk consumption per capita in Vietnam is still low compared to other countries in the region and the world (Thailand: 35 liters/person/year, Singapore: 62 liters/person/year, France: 260 liters/person/year). As of 2024, the price of goat milk in the Ba Vi area market is 70,000 VND/liter while the price of cow milk is 30,000 VND/liter.
